History of the Chocolate Chip and Oreo Cookies

My project was to research the history of the Chocolate Chip and Oreo Cookies.

During this time I learned all about these cookies, the age, who made them, and the overall history of both.

Did you know, that the biggest chocolate chip cookie was 102 ft long, and that Oreo has 30 different flavors? The Oreo was first sold in 1912, and the chocolate chip cookie was made in 1930, but sold in 1939, making both these cookies over a hundred years old. Ruth Wakefield, (the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie) was baking some cookies one day, when she ran out of bakers chocolate, so she used broken pieces of Nestle chocolate instead. The result were her new treats, the "Toll House Crunch Cookies". William Turnier designed the Oreo, but he did not create the idea. Hydrox created the first sandwich cookie, but Oreo created a better version of the sandwich cookie. The design on the Oreo and all Nabisco products was used by medieval monks to point out that a manuscript was good, which may translate that all Nabisco products are good.

I felt that I gained a great deal of knowledge from this project. I was actually surprised about the fact that the Oreo is older than the chocolate chip cookie. Also, neither of these inventors ever became rich or famous as their cookies.
